Medicare Supplement Plan N
Medicare Supplements are a source of significant stress relief for those who feel burdened by medical costs. Medicare itself already makes healthcare more affordable, but Medicare Supplements take affordability to the next level. Newcomers are presented with several plan options, as one can choose from Medicare Supplement Plans A, B, C, D, F, G, K, L, M, and N.
Plan N is emerging as a new favorite for many. And it’s easy to see why. Plan N is low-cost without sacrificing great coverage.
What Does Plan N Cover?
Medicare Supplement Plan N is fairly comprehensive. It leaves a few costs up to you, but it still covers a large portion of the other parts of your bill. Plan N strikes the balance between affordability and overall coverage.
Plan N covers:
• Medicare Part A hospital coinsurance (and all other costs for 365 days after Medicare coverage has been exhausted)
• Part A deductible
• Part A hospice care coinsurance or copayment
• Skilled nursing coinsurance
• Part B coinsurance or copayment (coinsurance is fully covered; copay up to $20 for office visits and $50 for outpatient treatments in the hospital)
• 80% coverage for foreign travel emergency
• First three pints of blood
It doesn’t cover the Part B deductible or excess charges. Only two Medicare Supplement Plans (C and F) cover the Part B deductible, and they’re only available to those who turned 65 before January 1, 2020.
Who Is This Policy For?
Plan N is right for someone who wants solid coverage, but doesn’t mind paying the Part B annual premium or excess charges from a non-participating provider. At most, this plan only leaves a few small costs to pay out-of-pocket. Plan N is for those who place high value in cost-effectiveness when it comes to their coverage. It works well for those who do not get frequent treatment, as well as those who receive medical treatments on a regular basis.
